How to convert PNG to JPG online

PNG is excellent for graphics with sharp edges and transparency, but photographs saved as PNG are often unnecessarily large. Converting to JPG usually shrinks file size enough for email attachments, job portals, and social uploads without a visible quality drop for photos.

Drop your PNG into the upload area. ImgKit draws the image on a canvas, fills any transparent regions with white, and exports a high-quality JPEG. Review the output size, then download the JPG to your device.

If the result looks too soft, start from a higher-resolution source or compress less aggressively with the dedicated 200KB compressor after conversion. For logos and UI screenshots, stay on PNG — JPG ringing around text is hard to reverse.

Frequently asked questions

Will transparent PNG areas stay transparent?
No. JPEG does not support transparency. Transparent pixels are filled with white before export so the result stays viewable in every photo app.
Is the conversion private?
Yes. The file is decoded and re-encoded in your browser. ImgKit does not upload your image to a server for this tool.
When should I keep PNG instead?
Keep PNG for screenshots with sharp text, UI graphics, or any image that needs an alpha channel. Use JPG for photographs and continuous-tone pictures.
